Full-Stack AI Engineer — Rails / React / React Native / AWS

Role

AccessMate is an Australian health-tech startup building a business-to-business SaaS platform for support service delivery.

We're looking for a capable engineer to work directly with the founder to help ship production features quickly using modern AI-assisted workflows.

Stack

• Ruby on Rails API
• React / TypeScript app
• React Native / Expo mobile app
• Postgres
• AWS
• Claude Code / AI coding tools

What you'll do

• Build and improve Rails API features, admin workflows and mobile app screens
• Read an existing codebase and ship clean, tested changes
• Use AI tooling to move faster, while applying real engineering principles
• Fix bugs, improve UX, write small docs and communicate clearly

You should be

• Proficient with AI coding tools for development, learning and integration
• Able to work independently from clear product briefs
• Comfortable with, or willing to learn, Rails, React and mobile development
• Reliable, async-friendly and clear in written English
• Interested in a long-term product leadership role

Nice to have

• Expo / React Native app store experience
• AWS deployment experience
• Healthcare, scheduling, workforce or marketplace experience
• Experience working on early-stage SaaS products

Engagement

• 6-month full-time contract
